One year in my studio

Hey Reader

A few days ago I realized it’s been one whole year since I built my studio.

Which feels super strange, because I still vividly remember the chaos before I had my own creative space. Props in the bedroom, living room, under the bed, in the attic…. Backdrops leaning against stairway walls. I had to move everything around every single time I wanted to shoot something. Extremely annoying and tiring. Let me know if you’re in the same situation…

I thought building a studio would mostly help my photography.

And I guess, technically it did, since I experiment more now. I work faster, and the best thing, I can leave setups overnight and come back with fresh eyes the next morning. I became much more confident with advanced artificial light techniques because I finally had the space and energy to properly explore it.

But weirdly… that’s not the best part.

The studio also became this quiet little world where I can think in peace and test ideas without the stress of constantly cleaning up šŸ˜…

And over the past year, something else happened...

People started coming into this creative space with me.

  • Students
  • Clients
  • Friends

I realized how much I love working with people, especially at the in-person workshops, not just creating things alone.

There’s something really special about standing next to someone while they go through a creative transformation, and you’re the one who helped them on their journey.

I genuinely didn’t expect teaching in person to become one of my favorite parts of photography.

So if you ever wondered what happens inside my little studio space… to be honest, it’s usually a mix of creativity, laughter, and a ton of moving props around šŸ˜„

And since the studio officially turned one, I thought I’d mention this:

I’m opening a few spots again for in-person coaching during August and September (Which, btw, is also a perfect time to visit our beautiful country, Slovenia šŸ˜‰).

So if learning together in the studio is something you’d ever be interested in, you can just reply to this email and tell me a little about yourself and where you are in your photography journey šŸ¤

Still feels surreal to even write that.

Talk soon,

.
